Construction firms, interior designing and remodeling firms, party and event organizers all have an equal share of female employees, who are working at various sites, outdoors and even in not so reachable places. Even when large scale events and shows are organized women attend such places in huge numbers. However at all such places their basic requirement of having a clean and independent washroom or restroom is not met. Many times it’s is observed that at such places the sanitation arrangements are unisex which means both men and women use the same restrooms and hence women find it very uncomfortable and unhygienic.
When sanitation arrangements should be made, they should have separate ladies restrooms and placed slightly away from the gents ones. There are multiple reasons why this should be done and what all should be provided in a ladies restroom, whether it is installed at a large party, a musical show or gathering or at construction sites.
Separate washrooms will ensure good health
When restrooms are installed at events or on sites, may it be permanent or portable, there should be separate ones for men and women. Women find it very uncomfortable to use the same restroom which a man has used due to hygiene issues. Hence women automatically, to avoid going to the restroom will drink less water and will harm their health in the long run. This hydration loss in their body can develop multiple illnesses and would harm their productivity and efficiency. If the site is outdoors in the sun, lack of water in their body can cause heatstroke and dehydration and hence affect their work and family life. Hence a only women loo is required.
A good safety system to the restroom is necessary
Many times it is observed that portable restrooms installed at outdoor events, are usually placed in secluded areas of the premise. Some dark corner where accessibility is difficult. On top of that the ladies washrooms do not have proper lock and bolt system. It may either be broken due to overuse or lack of maintenance. Such situations give rise to crimes and women harassment at such events. The safety of women when using the washroom should be prime priority and hence all the restroom doors and windows should have proper locking systems.
Cleanliness should be kept to ensure optimum hygiene
Ladies restrooms at sites and events are used often and not only for nature’s call but also for cleaning up during menstrual days or if hands and feet get dirty during work on construction sites. Hence all toilets and hand washing basins should be regularly cleaned and sanitized to ensure ladies do not feel at risk of catching a disease or infection when using the restroom. Especially during menstrual periods, women need to be extra careful with their hygiene and hence a clean restroom will ensure their safety. Disposal of waste materials like toilet paper and used sanitary pads should be done properly and restrooms must provide the provision to do so. Without which someone might catch an infection. Hand washing facilities must have running water and soap dispensers so that germs do not pass onto other users. If portable toilets are installed, their septic waste disposal tanks should be cleaned regularly so that microorganisms do not thrive and contaminate the restroom.
